The session is intended to raise awareness on human trafficking in Alberta. Presenters will outline the context regarding what human trafficking looks like in Alberta, relevant data, and the current state of resources in Alberta that work within the space of anti-human trafficking. They will also provide some background as to why the Alberta Centre to End Trafficking in Persons
came into existence and what we aim to improve in the continuum of care alongside organizations doing the work to disrupt trafficking and support survivors.

This presentation will also inform the audience of the mandate of the Alberta Centre to End Trafficking in Persons (Alberta Centre/AC), the purpose and intentionality behind collaboration, including a Survivor-informed approach and front-line experts to advise progress, address gaps, and improve system response. Through a unique phased approach, the Alberta Centre is engaging community members, organizations, and all levels of Government through regional engagement sessions to co-create coordinated response models that will address human trafficking.

The Alberta Centre recognizes human trafficking requires a community driven approach and collective action to effect change. Every one of us has a unique part to play in addressing this social issue. We value partnership and ongoing collaboration. Through an invigorating discussion, the presenters will highlight the work and the intention of the AC and welcome questions from the audience.
