ISLAMOPHOBIA AND ITS EFFECT ON CANADIAN MUSLIM WOMEN (SESSION W)

There has always been racism and prejudice against Muslims but recently due to factors such as 9/11 and the election of Trump there has been a dramatic increase in anti -Muslim prejudice. This is affecting Muslims but more so women and girls. Because of this global increase, the conflicts have created thousands of refugees which has affected Canada. Along with this is the pervasive violence against women and girls due to patriarchy which increases the negative treatment of women the world over, by governments and by the public. There has to be a concerted effort to overcome these damaging effects.
