Strangulation is one of the most serious and deadly forms of physical violence used in domestic violence and sexual assaults. Strangulation is known to be a predictor for future lethal violence in the relationship and all reports of strangulation assaults must be taken seriously. While many victims of strangulation will survive the assault it should never be assumed they are unharmed as many victims will go on to experience life threatening health issues.
