Wendy Aujla is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Sociology, at the University of Alberta. She is also the advisor and placement coordinator for the BA Criminology program. As an applied sociologist and criminologist, she has expertise in qualitative research methods, community-based research, community-engaged pedagogies, and various forms and contexts of gender-based violence. She has worked collaboratively with colleagues in academia and community to address violence against women. Wendy is a recipient of an Inspiration Award from Alberta Community and Social Services, which is awarded to people and organizations working to make a meaningful difference to prevent family violence.
